Dr. Zoltán Wilhelm

Director, Cultural Counsellor, Associate Professor

 

He got his M.Sc. Degree in Geography and Biology in 1994 at the prestigious University of Pécs (established in 1367), Hungary. In the same year he acquired the qualification of tourism manager and started his PhD studies that he completed with the level of “summa cum laude” in 1999.

He was appointed as Manager of Rural Development and the Director of Asia Centre of the University of Pécs in 2001. From 2004 he is also the Head of Department of Environmental Geography, Land Conservation and Management. He had successfully completed the course of Vedic Philosophy at the Bhaktivedanta Theological College in 2008 and the course of „Knowledge-Based Economy and City Competitiveness” in 2010 at the International Centre for Land Policy Studies and Training (Republic of China). In the same year he had fulfilled his habilitation process in the subject of „The survey of spatial disparities in India”. Started teaching at the Departments of Geography, Environmental Sciences and International Relations at the University of Pécs in 1994. He was the supervisor of dozens of thesis and until now eight of his PhD students acquired the degree of PhD. He was the supervisor of several EU research projects (such as EU INTERREG III/C „Eco-profit” project; EU VI framework programme: Coordination Action of the Territorial European Network of Intelligence) and published 155 scientific works and gained almost 200 citations. His cummulated impact factor is 1.231. From 1997 onwards he has been regularly doing various research works and teaching in Indian universities and has become the member of several scientific associations and the member of the editorial board of numerous scientific journals.

He has been appointed as the Director of Balassi Institute Hungarian Information and Cultural Centre, New Delhi, in October 2015.

Graduated from the Ness Wadia College of Commerce and further specialized in Public Relations and Marketing in 2004. Main field of Work - Handling all PR activities including preparing press releases and dealing with both the print and electronic media. Also assists in designing the newsletter and invitations for the various cultural activities at the Centre.
